AliExpress is a global marketplace owned by the Chinese Alibaba group, launched in 2010. The platform does not sell directly but provides an e-commerce space through which sellers (predominantly from China and, increasingly, from European warehouses) reach buyers worldwide. AliExpress for Romania: the site is accessible from Romania and delivers across the whole country. An increasingly large share of products is shipped from European warehouses (faster delivery, taxes included in the price), while the rest comes directly from China. Before ordering, check which warehouse the product ships from and the estimated delivery time.

Customs duties and VAT — read before you order. For parcels shipped from outside the EU: products under €10 are exempt from VAT; between €10 and €150 a 19% VAT is charged; over €150 customs duties are added too. From 1 January 2026, parcels with a value under €150 from outside the EU also carry a fixed logistics fee of 25 lei, collected by the platform or the courier. For products shipped from European warehouses, the taxes are usually already included in the displayed price. These rules are for guidance; check the values at the time of order.

• "Select" coupons — platform coupons applicable to eligible baskets, with a minimum threshold shown.

AliExpress accepts payment by card and other methods available at checkout, with secure processing. The Buyer Protection programme lets you request a refund if the product does not arrive within the displayed time, arrives damaged or does not match the description. For EU customers, the 14-day legal right of withdrawal also applies. Note: physically returning to China is often more expensive than the product, while returning to European warehouses is faster and cheaper — one more reason to prefer products shipped from the EU.

The AliExpress app

The AliExpress mobile app (Android and iOS) offers exclusive offers, extra coupons, price alerts, order tracking and games through which you unlock discounts. Many campaigns and welcome coupons are available first in the app, so it's worth ordering from the app for extra savings.
